Hey! It’s Monday…let’s make something!

Hey all! So it’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write a blog post here…but there have been some big changes around here that I want to share! I recently took the step of having a professional logo created for B.P. Farms Workshop! And with that came a whole website revamp! Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with my new logo and my updated site! What are your thoughts?

One of the other things that I’ve decided to do is push myself to create at least one thing every week. It could be a bowl or who knows what it’ll be! But from today on…I’m starting a “reel series” on my B.P. Farms Workshop Instagram account called “It’s Monday…let’s make something!” And today is the first…so I thought, why not create a blog post to go along with each video?! I can’t wait to hear what you all think of this series, along with the things I am making. And don’t worry…most of the items I make will be for sale at some point! So let’s get this show on the road!

It’s Monday…Let’s Make Something! ~ Week 1

I’ve been slacking when it comes to getting into the barn to make things. I’m sure that many of you can relate to what I’m about to say…as a father of two young kids…life is crazy and you never really know what each day will bring. But I’ve been using this as an excuse to not be up in the barn. Well that changes starting today.

I have a massive stockpile of logs and other forms of wood in the barn…and today I went over and grabbed this piece of maple. This log is from a tree that fell on our previous property. It’s been gathering dust for MANY years. Check out my Instagram Reel! ———->

I started with a bowl this week because it’s comfortable for me. I know the process. But what I loved about this is that you all now get to see the process behind any bowl I make.

As a maker…one of the hardest things is pricing things to sell. I feel its hard to justify my prices for things, mainly because customers don’t really know what all goes into the things I make. And don’t be fooled…this reel is 90 seconds long…but I started with 42 minutes of video that I edited down.

I really hope you enjoy this new series! I have a feeling that I will start to push myself into trying some things that I’ve always wanted to make…but never had the motivation to.

Let me know in the comments what you think!

See you next Monday!
