Caring For Your Item
I want to start by saying Thank You for purchasing a hand crafted item from B.P. Farms Workshop! So you’ve purchased an item for yourself, or you’ve received it as a gift…now what? When it comes to keeping wooden items in your home it’s important to keep a few things in mind.
Never, I repeat, NEVER soak your item in water or run through the dishwasher.
Do not store your wooden item in the fridge or place in the microwave.
Take the time to re-oil and apply food safe wax like B.P. Farms Wood Butter.
Please USE your item! Be it a Cutting/Serving Board, French Rolling Pin or a Wooden Spoon…these items are made to be loved, used and passed on.
Wood was once a living thing. Depending on temperature, humidity and care…it can change shape, change color or even crack and split (if not cared for correctly).
Do not use any vegetable based oils to re-oil your items. Over time these types of oils will go rancid. Below is a list of some oils/waxes I’ve used here.
-Walrus Oil Cutting Board Oil (I use this when finishing pieces here)
-Mahoney’s Walnut Oil (Used this in the past and it works great)
-Food Safe Mineral Oil (can be found in any grocery store or pharmacy)
-B.P. Farms Workshop - Wood Butter (I use this to finish things here)
If you have any questions please reach out via the “Contact Us” page here on the website and we’ll get back to you!

If you use your board to cut on, you’ll notice over time that the knife marks will show. You can sand your board down (either hand sanding or with a palm sander). Here I sand each board up to 320 Grit. I would suggest started no lower than 180 Grit, making sure to the the entire surface of the board. Then apply wood conditioner/Food Safe Mineral Oil and for added protection you can use B.P. Farms Workshop Wood Butter.

***IMPORTANT*** Do NOT put water in this bud vase. It is for dried items, or stems you’d like to dry, only.
This bud vase is not sealed with any type of shellac or sealant. Over time it will look dry and dull in color. Depending on the climate where you live, if it gets too dry, it could crack. Keeping the vase oiled or rubbed down with wood conditioner will prevent this.
