When I bought my lathe almost three years ago I honestly didn't know what I was going to make besides the French Style Rolling Pins. It took a few years to venture outside the world of rolling pins, but when I found the Antique Pepper Mill hardware I couldn't resist!
Turning a Small Figured Maple Bowl
Recently I ventured into the world of turning bowls. And by no means am I a master bowl turner...far from it if truth be told! But I'm truly having fun with this process. Last December I took a class offered through the Woodcraft store in Seattle, taught by Captain Jack, who has been turning for 20+ years and you can hear the passion in his voice. The day and a half long class cost me an arm and a leg...but I walked away with a beautiful maple bowl and a maple mallet.

I would like to take a moment to welcome you all to the B.P. Farms Workshop! Creating this standalone website and store has been a major step for me. And I won't lie, it's not something that I jumped into without any reservations. But here I am writing the first of what I only hope will be many blog entries about my work in the shop, along with some snippets of my life here on the farm.
