Like every other woodworker, I have a lot of wood in my barn that I’ve collected over the years that I’ve been trying to find a use for. And recently…I found it!

Wooden Bud Vases are a wonderful accent to any home. The vases are not meant to hold water and live plants. Did you find the perfect bloom you wanted to dry and display? These vases will be perfect for it! In the pictures, I’ve displayed them with a live section of a plant…but no water was added to this vase.

This vase is made from a piece of Walnut Burl. Burl wood is one of my favorites to work with. Burls can be on any tree, but it’s where there’s been some sort of an injury to the tree and it creates a large external growth. The grains and patterns inside the burl can be quite intense and beautiful. Walnut burl wood never disappoints! The one thing I’ve noticed is that it’s hard to capture how truly beautiful it is in a picture. I promise, when you hold this piece in your hand…you will love it!
