***Make Sure to look at dimensions of bowl!***

Wood turned bowls are some of the most beautiful things that can come off a lathe. Getting into my shop and learning how to turn bowls has truly been a labor love...but it's something that I truly am grateful that I've taken the time to learn.

Maple is a beautiful wood that is plentiful here in the Pacific Northwest. Over the winter a large portion of one of our Big Leaf Maple trees fell because of heavy snow, which left me with amazing wood to turn into bowls! This bowl is "spalted maple," which is a process where bacteria enters the wood and creates these amazing dark lines and discoloring throughout the wood.  This medium sized bowl is perfect for snacks, eggs, keys or even as a nice show piece!

***Also note the shape of this bowl...after turning wood has a tendency to shift shape a bit...and this bowl has gone a tad "oval" in shape. That's the great thing about wood...it can change a bit as time goes on! This bowl also has a crack that radiates out from one edge. This bowl was turned on August 5, 2018 and allowed to air dry and the crack has not spread or widened.

This bowl was hand turned, by me, here on the farm and finished with Mahoney's Heat Treated Filtered Walnut Oil and rubbed down with B.P. Farms Wood Butter.
