***Make Sure to look at dimensions of bowl!***

Wood turned bowls are some of the most beautiful things that can come off a lathe. Getting into my shop and learning how to turn bowls has truly been a labor love...but it's something that I truly am grateful that I've taken the time to learn.

Recently I've had the pleasure to work with green wood. Green wood is wood that hasn't been dried, like a tree that is freshly cut down. This bowl was turned from a piece of Madrone wood that was sourced locally, here in the Seattle area. One of the great things about green wood is that it changes shape as it loses moisture. As a matter of fact...it changes shape while it's being turned! This bowl was turned on July 6, 2018, and was allowed to dry naturally over the course of several weeks before it was finished sanded and oiled. Because this wood isn't fully dry, it will continue to change shape ever so slightly.

This bowl has some great texture to the outside of it, along with a natural cut in the top rim! ! It's hard to capture in pictures, but the way it's dried gives it such character.

This bowl was hand turned, by me, here on the farm and finished with Mahoney's Heat Treated Filtered Walnut Oil and rubbed down with B.P. Farms Wood Butter.
